DIRECTOR OF YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS
TESTIMONY
I grew up in England as the eldest of four children in a home with faithful Christian parents who loved the Lord and were committed to raising us in the truth of His Word. I attended public school for elementary school, where I was often the only outspoken Christian in my class. I loved debating my teachers and classmates about faith, and even then the Lord was faithfully shaping my convictions.
When I was eleven, my family moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to serve as missionaries. Living among a predominantly Buddhist/Animist culture made the contrast between the gospel and the world very clear. Much of my upbringing there involved street evangelism, outreaches to hill tribes, sports camps, and visits to orphanages. Being surrounded by families who had given their lives to mission work left an impression on me.
During those years, I began leading worship as school/church and throughout high school was discipled by remarkable men. Most of my friends’ fathers were pastors and missionaries. Looking back, I could not have asked for a better environment to grow in faith, and it played a major role in preparing me for a future in ministry.
Growing up overseas also meant living as a foreigner, even among the missionaries themselves, who came from many different countries. In many ways it was a gift. It taught me early that following Christ often means living differently from the surrounding culture. I was baptized in the Mekong River at age eleven by a Thai pastor.
After high school, I moved to Sweden to attend Capernwray Bible School, and later studied Physics at Durham University in the UK. After three years, I moved to Canada to marry my wife in Banff in 2015.
Our first year of marriage, we travelled to California to attend Bethel School of Ministry. However, during the COVID years and the shutdown of churches, the Lord used that season to correct many of my theological errors. Through Scripture and faithful teaching, He redirected our family and ultimately led us to Redemption Church.
Over the years, I have worked in a variety of fields, working as a baker, a salesman, and founding a brewery, before stepping into ministry. Today I serve as the Director of Youth and Young Adults at Redemption, where I am passionate about helping the next generation know Christ deeply and be on mission in this world.
My wife and I now have three children, and we are grateful for the way the Lord has faithfully led our family every day.
